REUPHOLSTER OLD CHAIRS

reupholstery
One of the easiest and fastest ways to increase the comfort of your home is with soft furnishings. Whether this means purchasing completely new items of furniture or perhaps re-upholstering your current furnishings, having a soft sofa and comfortable dining chairs can make all the difference to how you and your family feels about your home.

Of course one of the most important items of furniture you can possibly have in your home is seating; whether this be dining chairs, sofas, 3 piece suites or settees. You only need to think about how often you, your family and your visitors use these furnishings to realise how much of a difference they can make if they are truly soft and comfortable.

If you can’t bear to throw away your old sofas or chairs despite their tired or uncomfortable appearance, you should perhaps consider new upholstery; sofas and chairs can be re-sprung, re-stuffed, have padding added for extra comfort, and be given brand new fabric upholstery. This is a great way to save your loved furnishings without compromising on comfort.

If you do decide to have your furnishings upholstered, or re-upholstered (or repaired), one of the best places to find the right upholsterer for your needs is through the Association of Master Upholsterers and Soft Furnishers. The Association keeps a directory of upholsterers and do-it-yourself wholesalers and suppliers, as well as offering upholstery training courses. All of the upholsterers listed should be able to repair or restyle your present furniture, as well as replacing fillings (with foam, fibre or feather).

If you are redesigning a room, you may also be able to organise to have window seats and footstools made up in the same fabric by the upholster you hire.
